The recruiter got in touch with me. Had a good conversation. He then setup an phone interview with the hiring manager. The hiring manager was late to the interview. He appears to be a big hurry, barely got a chance to talk to him. After a good 15 min. on the call with the hiring manager, he said as long as you can pass the technical quiz, we will bring you in. The quiz was about programming and computer science concepts around algorithms. Took the quiz and I guess I did not do very well because I never got the invite to come onsite. This is a stupid quiz for non technical role. Why they want a program manager to be able to read code is beyond me. I think pure storage is missing out on a lot of great talents out there for trying to apply a cookie cutter recruiting process around their hiring practices. Anyway, i wish this company the best of luck....but they are kicking themselves in the foot by blindly asking all applicants take some irrelevant technical quiz.
