      Recruiter Interview

      Jan 17, 2019
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      New York, NY
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 6 days. I interviewed at Everyday Health Group (New York, NY)

      Interview

Hiring process was quick paced and rushed. After having a call with one of the VPs, I met with 2 different HR partners in person. Both managers were friendly and engaging and our conversation was enlightening on both sides. After my final interview, I was promptly offered a verbal offer but I couldn’t get a written offer without verbally accepting first. After insisting that I review what I was signing, I was only sent a portion of the written offer to review. I told them I needed to think about it to which I was told I had 12 hours to sign the offer. Making a career switch is a life changing decision which requires more than 12 hours of thought.... I told the company I need more time than that to think as I’m already employed and I would also need to speak to my current company. The next day (Saturday) I had afamily emergency so I let them know on Monday of my situation as I was in no state to make such an important decision. When I came back, I sent the recruiter an email letting them know I will be I setting up a meeting with my current employer to discuss my resignation. 2 days later I received an email saying my offer had been withdrawn due to my inability to accept the offer in a “timely manner”. (Less than 1 week has gone by since I was offered the role including a working). It’s bad business to withdraw an offer (and legally dicey considering the whole resignation on good faith law!). For a company that’s as unstable as it is, after having gone through so many acquisitions and buy outs, you really should be more patient and ethical. Anyway, I dodged a bullet! I’d never want to work for a company with such unreasonable demands nor would I be able to practice them on other candidates.
