I had a wonderful interview process, meeting with the person currently holding the position, then a member of the executive team. However, I had a very negative experience post-interview. I was verbally offered the role by both people I met with and negotiated salary with a member of the executive team. I verbally accepted, and was really excited about the role and the team.
As an informal final step, I was asked if I would meet with the CEO for coffee in the next two days. I agreed and was told they would reach out with available times. I never heard from anyone from the company again. I reached out twice to check in on the process and neither person I met with responded to my e-mails.
While my interview experience was fine, I am extremely disappointed with the treatment I received after the interview. It is okay if, for any reason, a company needs to rescind an offer - but have the decency to give the candidate a call or at least respond to an e-mail. Neither of those are difficult to do. The handling of this situation was extremely unprofessional and disappointing.
