I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Exabeam (San Mateo, CA)
Interview
The process is very efficient. I got approached by a recruiter from LinkedIn and she helped to set up the interview very quickly. The interview is not hard but very practical. They gave me the offer but then things start to go wrong when I negotiate the package with them. I have a competing offer but they cannot match it. Instead they gave me their package and tried to convince me their equity will be valuable one day. I do prefer to work for a startup (and my competing offer is not) so I told them I hope they can give me more responsibilities to match the higher salary I ask for. Surprisingly, they revoked my offer and told me our interests are not matched.
For their Java/Scala role, they ask you your level of comfort/knowledge. From here they will give you more or less slack about the questions.
It started with a couple phone interviews and meetings with the team manager which lead into the aforementioned coding interview.

The recruiter reached out to me on LinkedIn. Recruiter started the process. I was told that the interviews will be scheduled but received an email later on saying that they are going into hiring freeze mode
It was a behavioral interview with a senior recruiter. She was very nice and mentioned all about the company. I got a chnace to talk about my experience too. It was very helpful first interview because it is important to know if the job posting matches with your interest. She also talks about the work enviroment and compensation.
