I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Express (Okemos, MI) in Oct 2013
Interview
I submitted my resume online. My friend was one of the managers there. I was called for an interview that same week. Obviously my friend put in a good word for me. However I would say getting a seasonal job is not very difficult especially in retail. Dress professionally and a little bit fashionable. If you need an idea of what I mean go look at their website. I had a very simple interview and started working a couple days later.
