I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at FTI Consulting
Interview
I felt the interview process was somewhat disrespectful. A recruiter reached out to me via LinkedIn regarding a role that they did not provide a job description for but looking to fill. I agreed because I am open to opportunities and wanted to learn more details about the role and the organization. We had our phone screening the following day and the recruiter just started rapid firing questions about where I work, why I am looking for a job, etc. They provided little to no information about the role and wanted to be secretive about the pay. When I inquired about the salary range they mentioned they were aware it may be low due to my career level(Which it was) but I couldn't help but feel it was disrespectful they reached out to me with the disclaimer about how junior the role is, no job description, barely providing information about the job in the initial minutes of the phone call but asking all of these details they can find on Linkedin. Its rude. Please be respectful of candidates time by providing as much information upfront instead of playing power games.
I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at FTI Consulting (Bowie, MD) in Jun 2019
Interview
Phone interview had general interview questions to expect. About 8 questions and fairly conversation based, in that the interviewer followed up with interesting points she found interesting in my responses.
4 days later I went into the office for an in person interview. I met with the department lead and had a very casual conversation for about 15 minutes. It was just to learn a bit more about me and have her sell the office/position to me in a bit more detail.
Then met with two interviewers, one from the phone interview and another in the same position. They asked about 6 situational type questions. Still very friendly interview and helped to make a relaxed, but still profession environment.
So friendly and a very team oriented department.
