Awful. Prepare for an oral bar exam (the entire 1-2 hours for both the HR screen and the first round, and don’t ask HR any clarifying questions about the hypos because they can’t answer). I’m not referring to a few behavioral questions during an interview or a company that advises you ahead of time it uses the STAR interview method. I’m referring to legal hypotheticals (but not really hypothetical because they were actual fact patterns involving the company). Like a machine gun, one after the other, with the interviewer trying to poke holes in most of the answers. No questions asked about my actual experience/resume, no chit chat in the beginning or at the end in an effort to get to know each other. Interviewer ended the interview with a reminder that the position was to provide support to the interviewer only and asked me to confirm I was ok staying in the background with no exposure to management or possibility of advancement. Who would be ok with that for an under market salary? Just cold. Interviews should be a respectful exchange, promoting dialogue and valuing a candidate’s point of view. No human connection here at all.
