I applied for a Strategic Partnerships Manager position at Factorial and was initially excited about the opportunity. However, the recruitment process turned out to be disorganized and disappointing.
Throughout the process, communication was inconsistent and delayed — I often had to wait weeks for updates. Midway through the interviews, the role I was being considered for was changed without any explanation or formal notification. I only realized this after receiving a case study with a very short deadline, without knowing what position it related to.
I was also scheduled for a call with one of the recruiters to clarify the situation, but they didn’t show up and failed to send any message to cancel or reschedule.
I expressed my concerns about the lack of clarity and transparency, but instead of acknowledging them, the team chose to end the process, citing my delayed case study — despite the confusion caused by their own lack of communication.
I had heard mixed feedback about the company culture and recruitment experience, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt. Unfortunately, my experience confirmed many of those concerns.
Advice to management:
Respect candidates' time and effort. A transparent, timely, and respectful recruitment process says a lot about your internal culture and values.
