I had a phone screen with hiring manager and then an in person with team, 5 people. The HR coordinator told me that it was take them about 2 weeks to get back to me after the interview. Everyone one seemed pretty nice but it's been over a month and I haven't heard back. After 3 weeks, I sent them an email to let them know that I'm in final rounds with other companies and I would like to know what the status is on their end. Still haven't heard back. Needless to say, I've moved on to other options. I'm pretty disappointed with how unresponsive they've been especially since I was there for in person for over 3 hours and my negative rating is attributed solely to this issue. The interview itself was pretty easy for a UX Designer interview which to me is a bit alarming. The people that I interviewed with didn't seem that prepared. One person asked if I had an online portfolio. I would've assumed that they've reviewed or at least skimmed my portfolio before the interview. I really don't know any designers without a portfolio. Also, I spent about 30 minutes with each interviewer. The hiring manager did ask me a few questions to gage my thought process, however, a 30 minute time slot really didn't allow much thinking, especially when it was asked towards then end of the 30 minutes. My suggestion is a more structured interview, pose a problem and have a candidate white board their solution and talk out loud through their thought process. Maybe have then candidate present the solution to the team after or better yet, have the candidate work with a team member during the exercise, as much as you're interviewing the candidate, they also need to interview you to gage how you guys work and if it's a good match.
