The hiring manager showed up completely disengaged — on his phone during the interview, barely listening, and giving off serious “I don’t want to be here” energy. He was arrogant, dismissive, and outright rude, making it clear he had already made up his mind prematurely. The whole thing felt performative — like they were checking a box rather than genuinely evaluating a candidate. Zero respect for my time and zero professionalism. The only redeeming part of this process was the recruiter — she was an absolute gem. Friendly, communicative, and on top of everything. She deserves a better team to support. In terms of difficulty, the actual interview questions weren’t bad — if you know your fundamentals, you’ll be fine. But honestly, no level of prep can make up for a toxic first impression. TL;DR: If this is how leadership treats potential senior hires, I can only imagine what it’s like on the inside. Proceed with caution.
