One 30-minute interview with a panel of 3 economists/researchers. Very laid back, with a mixture of behavioral questions and economic intuition tests. Some time at the end to ask your own questions. Pretty standard

Did both a phone interview and skype interview. The phone interview was a simple screening while the skype interview went into the more meaningful questions. They encouraged you to focus on the action and result while answering the questions. This method is known as the STAR method.

This was for a summer economic research internship. I applied in mid-October, was contacted by an HR representative for an interview in mid-December with an economist from a certain section of the Board. I was sent another round of documents to fill out, and was notified within a week of the interview.
