I applied online. I interviewed at Fidelity Investments (Jacksonville, FL) in Feb 2018
Interview
The process started well enough I was contacted by an hr rep and did the initial interview. It was very much in line with a behavioral interview, she asked questions about how I handled situations in the past. The third interview as with a hiring manager , I thought the interview went well, Also a behavioral interview, I explained how I handled situations at my previous firm in a very similar role. When the hr rep followed up with me she let me know they would not hire me and gave me the hiring managers notes. She said I should have talked about my achievements in my previous role because that is what a behavioral interview looks for. Then she said that the hiring manager noted I would not explain how I was evaluated, in our interview I explained how I met the call metrics, how I wrote a software guide for software the firm had no training for and taught a training class. I also when into how I structured the calls to recommend the companies products and met those metrics. Based on the feed back I got it seems he twisted every answer I gave into a negative, looking back at the interview he was looking for intel on my previous firm, he wanted specifics on how their software worked and how the managers used the qa software, he had no intention of hiring me. They used me to try an get information on the competition, given the paperwork I signed when I left, I was not going to give them the name of the previous firms software and explanations of how the software worked which form the feed back is what he wanted. Besides a behavioral interview is about how I acted in the past. I gave examples of things I did in specific situations.
