The first step of the process was a phone screening. The HR team at Figma are top notch. They communicated well, provided great materials, set clear expectations and we're extremely engaged during the initial interview.
After the phone screening, I did a Zoom interview with the hiring manager. They showed up 10 minutes late, barely looked into the camera, didn't come prepared with any questions and was clearly looking at other screens doing other work the entire time. They asked me zero questions that would gauge my skillset or fit for the role. I had to carry the conversation by asking strategic questions that would express my interest while allowing a natural opening to share why my experience made me a strong candidate.
After my second interview, I did not hear from anyone at Figma for another 2.5 weeks when I received an automated email.
