The mock training portion of the interview was one of the more confusing interview experiences I've had.
Candidates were instructed to prepare a training for existing customers on new product updates, so I spent several hours preparing based on the release notes provided that went over the previous functionality vs. new functionality. However, once the role play began, I was told the "customer" had never used the product before, which required a completely different training approach.
I also tried to tailor the training by asking questions about the audience and their workflow, but the responses were extremely vague ("could be anyone" or "I don't know"), making it difficult to demonstrate how I would personalize a customer training. They acted completely disinterested in wanting to do the role play from the start. I saw one interviewer looking at another screen the entire time and their kid came into view in the middle of the conversation.
If a company wants a candidate to spend time preparing for a mock training, they can at least be respectful of the time and interact during the role play.
