The process was pretty standard for the most part. The negative experience came from lack of professionalism of the recruiter and one of the two interviewers. The recruiter made it known to me that she viewed my Linked In profile and then began to describe how my hair style was against the dress code. Yes, this happened and this was only the phone interview, but I let it slide because it was an old photo. The next red flag was being asking about salary expectations three separate occasions, even though your application process asks for it. When salary was brought up again during my in-person with her, her facial expression alone set the tone for the rest of the interview.
A panel interview was done right after inperson with the recruiter, which was a disaster too. I interviewed with the hiring manager and another manager within the same LOB. The non-hiring manager took over the interview and was abrasive and border line combative from the start. It felt like a poorly executed good cop/bad cop interview. Both of them seemed to gave never looked at my resume before because both were flipping through it, almost frantically, trying to find a flaw. The non-hiring manager's misuse of industry jargon only led to me answer questions with a question or asking for clarification. About half way during the interview I was done, I a tried not to show it. I was tired of trying to figure out if this was all a show to test me or if this nonsense is their corporate culture. I should have just got up and left.
