I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at First American Financial Corporation in Feb 2023
Interview
Most unprofessional interview process I’ve ever experienced.
I was scheduled for a final interview at 5 PM on a week day. The day comes and I join the meeting, only to have a manager join and tell me the interview has been cancelled due to “internal conflict”, and that I should have been notified by a recruiter. I was never notified of this.
It turns out the primary recruiter was out of office, and a second recruiter was supposed to cover for them during this time period. After messaging the first recruiter, I learned that the position had been abruptly cancelled (“up-leveled” for a more senior role) and all scheduled interviews were cancelled. The second recruiter was supposed to call me and inform me of these developments.
I don’t know when this decision was made, but there was almost a week of time between when the interview was scheduled and when it was supposed to take place. If I hadn’t messaged the first recruiter, I would have never known.
For context, I had gone through a 15-minute phone screen with a recruiter and a 30-minute behavioral interview with an engineering hiring manager.
Overall, extremely unprofessional behavior from the company. Disrespectful of candidates’ time. A massive waste of time and effort. If this is how the company conducts its business, then this is definitely not somewhere you want to work. So much for “Putting People First”.

Pretty smooth, if you are fresher, just be honest and show the willingness to learn and contribute. It's okay to say I don't know if you really don't know. The team is supportive but not ideal if you're looking for an IT job
