1. How I applied - this was completed on the Indeed app. After a day or so, I received correspondence from a representative whose position was “Sr. Talent Acqusition Speacialist.”
2. The “interview” - the rep asked me through email to set up a time to speak with her. After agreeing upon a time at noon, after waiting 10 mins, I finally received the call. The rep was late to an interview they she set up with me based on her schedule. This was not a good look so far. Furthermore, when awaiting the interview date she corresponded with me through text message and provided me with a link to the job description. The salary range provided there was “$18.18 - $26.41 hourly.” When I brought this up at the end of the half-baked 10 minute interview that she was late for, she stated that was not the salary and aggressively attempted to ask me to resend the link she sent me. So I did her one better. I forwarded her the email she sent me.
3. Lying - She then responded through email claiming to have spoken to her “manager” and that the job salary was misposted. The job range was only “$19 - $22 houly.” That was over 35% less money.
4. The rep became passive aggressive - She then stated I would need to redo my interview with her because she felt we were not able to complete the interview. In short, she believes that because I asked her about the salary over the phone not matching up with reality (specifially the job description on the First American website) we must now redo the itnervoew.
5. Result - I informed her I did not appreciate her lying about pay to get someone into a low-paying job. I also stated that her being late to an interview planned on her schedule was unprofessional. And I added that I was definitely withdrawing my application to boot.
