2 interviewers. Very personable and easy to talk to. At the beginning of the interview, I was asked ONE question about reviewing the history of the company. This interview went on for 3 HOURS and that was the ONLY QUESTION ASKED. The manager stated "I prefer not to do a standard interview because I want to get to know your personality. We are a family here and I want to be sure you fit in." So, for 3 HOURS, their discussion barely had anything to do with work or the job I was applying for. I left feeling great because our personalities meshed very well. I was told I'd get a call by the end of the week; call didn't happen until the beginning of the next week when the Manager said that she would personally CALL me the next day and let me know. Instead I received an EMAIL the next evening stating I was "overqualified" and that "the salary alone would be unjust for my background, qualifications and skills."
So, did they interview me to fill a quota or to get 3 hours away from work? Why would you bring in an overqualified individual, but never bring it up in the 3 hours you interviewed me ? Shouldn't you have went over the things you felt needed addressing at the beginning of the interview (such as "the salary for the position starts at $xx.xx. How do you feel about that?"), so you could personally see that it wouldn't have been an issue? Was my resume and application not thoroughly reviewed BEFORE the interview?
Because NO JOB RELATED QUESTIONS were asked in my interview, I felt that I wasn't given a FAIR chance in this process. I really wanted this job and was so excited to be a part if the team. In the end, I am highly disappointed in the way this was handled.
