I applied through college or university. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Fisher Investments (Portland, OR) in Dec 2015
Interview
Met on Campus and did 2 phone interviews. Phone interviews were very behavioral and about my resume and whatnot. Flew me out to Portland to interview at their HQ. Had 4 45 min interviews there. First one was an actual interview where they asked me questions and then spent the next 2.5 hours having to ask questions. Coming up with questions to ask 3 people for 45 min each isn't easy so prepare yourself.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
How do you define failure? Why do you want this position? What drives you the most?
Similar to most other interviews, very basic questions testing fit and values. Multiple rounds, but mostly wanted to learn more about you and why you wanted to work for Fisher.
It was clear and easy. The people were very friendly and they made sure to aska range of questions. There were 3 rounds I believe. The first two were more in depth to gauge character
I applied online. I interviewed at Fisher Investments (Plano, TX) in May 2026
Interview
Three rounds of interviews. The first one was on zoom. Second one was on site with a tour of the property. Final was on zoom again. Final interview was definitely the most difficult. At the end of the final interview I was told the hiring managers were going to review candidates and that I would hear from them by the end of the week. I never heard from them again. Very strange. Thought after 3 rounds of interviews they would at least reach out to tell me no.
