I applied online and got a phone screen with a recruiter within a week. The phone screen interview went well, and I got a positive impression of the company through her. Then I met the hiring manager for an informal interview at a coffee shop. Everything seemed to be going well, and then he said, "I've got a math question for you -- don't worry if you're not good at math." It was weird for him to say that since I mentioned that I performed a lot of A/B tests and data analysis in previous roles, and I had mentioned data points in the interview. I felt he said that because I am a Hispanic woman. When I gave him the correct answer and explained how I derived it, he said he had never seen anyone take that kind of approach to calculate it. He said he'd get back to me after the weekend, and when I followed up afterwards, I got the sterile rejection email.
