      Documentation Specialist Interview

      Feb 11, 2020
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Birmingham, AL
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Fleetio (Birmingham, AL)

      Interview

Phone interview went great and then a few days later they sold my personal information to a third party job posting app who emailed me to let me know not only did I not get the job but that I could use their third party company to find a new job. What in the violating privacy laws is that about?? Emailed Fleetio and asked about it, they said typically they would have emailed me first to tell me I hadn’t gotten the job, and then the third party would have reached out. Seriously avoid this company unless you like your information being disclosed without your approval! Filing a report with the FTC immediately.

We appreciate you bringing this to our attention. Fleetio takes candidate privacy very seriously and does not sell nor provide candidate information to anyone under any circumstance. To clarify, Fleetio partnered with a diversity and inclusion software; this software was integrated with our applicant tracking system and sent a system-generated email to you offering the opportunity to opt-in to their recruiting network. We truly apologize for the timing of the email and lack of clarity. As a best practice, Fleetio Recruiting notifies candidates once the decision has been made to move forward with another candidate. We’ve since resolved the issue with the software to ensure this does not happen again.

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Fleetio in Feb 2020

      Interview

I really walked away impressed and glad I applied, despite not getting the position. The interviews were to the point, not overly extensive, but relevant. Their recruiter, Danielle, is REALLY good at her job. I never thought I would say that about a recruiter, but she blew me away. My initial interview with her was "easy" in the sense that she is easy to talk to, and really made me feel comfortable. I felt like I was having an actual conversation, not trying to pass some litmus test, which is probably why they get good people. Really, I can't talk enough about how much she impressed me. Afterwards, I had an interview with 2 people in the Customer Success department, with whom the role would be interacting. It felt the same - very relevant, on point, but still like a real conversation about their objectives, and if my skillset could contribute. I then had an exercise to do. Lastly, and something I REALLY appreciated, was that I got a call to let me know they went with another candidate, AND very specific feedback about why, and that it was a tough decision. This was super impressive, and it made me feel like I walked away from the process with something, despite not getting the role. In an age where so many companies just turn into a black hole of silence, it really makes Fleetio stand out as a place that respects your time. It definitely leaves me waiting for another role to open up, so I can apply again.

      Question 1

I really can't remember any typical, generic "interview" questions one usually runs across in interviews; as I said, it all felt like a real conversation, a reciprocal back and forth.
