I applied in-person. I interviewed at Ford Motor Company in Dec 2018
Interview
After several exchanges over many months with staff at the office I was applying to which went quite well, I was contacted by a contract recruiter on the oposite coast from where I the role was. He addressed me by the wrong name in writing more than once. He had no experience interviewing or assessing for creative roles and asked generic questions. When he did not call me 10 minutes after the arranged time, I called him... this seemed to upset him. Sent a follow up letter, never heard back.
I applied online. I interviewed at Ford Motor Company (London, England) in Jun 2025
Interview
Good HR, poor interview. Product and engineering trying to ask questions about design with a non design background. Pointless. It's like asking an IT person to judge a HR personnel candidates capabilities and background. Product manager guy talks a lot likes hearing his own voice rather than listening
I recently interviewed at Ford as a designer. The process included a portfolio review, design challenge, panel interview, and cultural fit assessment. Each stage focused on my creativity, technical skills, and alignment with Ford’s values.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
During the interview, they asked me to explain my design process for a project in my portfolio, detailing how I approached problem-solving and incorporated feedback to refine the final design.
I applied through college or university. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Ford Motor Company (Detroit, MI)
Interview
Very basic process, couple of interviews, showing portfolio and explanation of process and design thinking. The interviewers were very friendly and gave very insightful feedback. The only thing is that it was only for 5-10 minutes, which made the process a little hesitant or in a hurry.
