I was asked to do a very in depth review of an A/B test as well a proposing 2 new tests and explaining a framework around the tests without even having done phone screen. Feels like a very disrespectful hiring process and likely they are just trying to scam me for some free consulting.

"Please do not spend longer than 2 hours on this assessment.
Go through FormSwift’s conversion flow starting from a landing page until you get to the checkout
page.
Review the next few slides showing a series of previously run winning and losing a/b tests that
optimize for the document preview on the builder.
Note that these tests are from the past and do not reflect the builder on production.
Based on the results of the previous tests, iterate on two new ideas that improve the document
builder experience for new users. Explain your thought process.
Prioritize between your two ideas and explain your decision.
For the final idea you prioritized:
Provide a simple mock-up in any design/wireframe tool or paper/pen.
Create a short brief (ie. considerations) to give to a designer to improve upon your idea. Imagine
the designer will create a hi-fidelity prototype based on your brief.
Write questions you would ask an engineer to help you understand the technical effort needed to
test your idea in order to eventually write a spec. Do not write a spec."
I received an email in response to my application asking me to complete an assignment before even conducting a screening interview, asking me to review their site and propose a new feature improvement with a proposal and brief. When I checked out the website I saw that the many negative Better Business Bureau reviews were accurate - although the homepage claims that they provide free documents, there is no free option. The cheapest option is to pay $1.95 for a "7 day trial" to get the document they promised free, and you then have to contact the company within those 7 days to stop them from then charging you $37 each month.
Based on the, at best, misleading claims they seem to base their business on, I did not feel comfortable providing them with my free labor on the proposal when they had not even invested 10 minutes in an initial call.

They did not ask me any questions, just gave me an assignment.
Before even having a single call, they gave me an assessment about their real product, which took me 1-2 days to finish, and when we had the call afterwards they said the role has changed and now they are looking for a project manager. They either have no idea about how to run a respectful hiring process or they are just looking for free consultancy.
