I was initially contacted via by an individual in People Ops who asked to set up a phone interview with another individual in People Ops. I had a total of two phone interviews, one with HR/people ops the next with the team Manager. Both interviewed on speakerphone with a lot of static and background noise making it very hard to hear. After interviewing with a number of companies, especially startups I have to say this was the worst interview experience.
The interviewers both seemed very unwelcoming and almost as if they did not want to bring someone new on. The manager I spoke with was borderline rude and reacted negatively to questions I had about the position (ex. I asked if the role they were hiring for was new or if they were hiring due to a vacancy and the interviewer seemed personally offended that I asked) . Needless to say I was glad when that interview ended.

Usual phone, hiring manager, panel - but panel questions were lacking details leading to toughness in the questions. The interviewers could be better in asking the questions or give more clear understanding of what they are expecting. Otherwise, its easy and direct.
