I received an email from a recruiter looking to schedule an initial phone screening. I conducted the phone screening with the recruiter days later and was told that I would receive an update on next steps by a specified date. The recruiter never responded, despite sending a thank you email after the screening and follow up email a week after the specified date. I received a generic email two months later stating that the position was filled or they were pursuing other candidates. The phone screening was professional and engaging, but the follow up recruitment process was extremely unprofessional.
