Interview
Fairly straightforward, I had 4 interviews: one with recruiter, a technical screen, then I talked to two different teams.
Interviews are a vibe check more than anything, and I did NOT get “I’m happy I work here” vibes from anyone I talked to after the recruiter, who was great but worked with a contracting company serving Freddie.
I suspect they were all in a similar position as me: needed a job so they accepted one at a corporation pretending as hard as it can that a pandemic isn’t still ongoing and propping up commercial real estate prices by forcing pointless office days.
Commuting is a drain on our time, our money and our mental health. This company cares more about real estate prices. I’m so lucky I didn’t have to take this job.

Are you willing to work 2 days a week in office? (3 days mandatory soon in a few months)
In the technical screen, I was asked to build a polynomial class that supported functions like addition (used a dictionary in the constructor to store coefficients)
Then in the final I was asked more Leetcode style questions like reverse a linked list recursively. I was also asked rapid fire Python questions like "what is a decorator?"
I also talked to the vp about my experience. I was applying for my first software role so he was asking questions about my classes and distributed system type questions
Applied, start with recruiter call. Then General spring boot and Java related questions, also there will be questions related to your resume, will have behavioral questions in the end. Also there is whiteboard coding questions
The interview process started with an online assessment that included basic coding problems and logic-based questions. After passing the assessment, I was invited to a virtual behavioral interview with two engineers. They asked about my previous projects, problem-solving approach, and team collaboration experiences.
