I applied online and was contacted for a Teams video interview two weeks later. I was told that both the director and the senior talent advisor/recruiter would attend. Only the director was there. He had an awful Internet connection; his connection kept failing. So, he would ask me a question, then I would begin to answer, and then I would have to stop and start over because I could sense the connection was lost. It was impossible to give a fluid and coherent response. I felt like I was back in the 1990s with a dial-up connection. I finally asked if we could just do audio to see if that would help; it did not.
Thus, I did not get a fair chance to answer his questions and share my qualifications. I took an entire day off from work for this interview so I would be completely prepared. They did not take this interview nearly as seriously as I did.
To make matters worse, the director said there would be a second interview with the recruiter present. That never happened. In fact, the director never responded to my follow-up email. Instead, I received a boilerplate reply from someone (I think) in HR.
In conclusion, this was the most unprofessional interview that I have participated in ever. I was not treated with nearly the same respect that I showed them. Big disappointment.
