In summary, I went into their offices THREE times, which proved to be a waste of time!
The first interview was standard - competency questions, technical and non-technical, and a pair programming exercise. After this, my feedback from the recruiter was all positive.
Second interview wasn't really an interview - it was just a chat with the person who would be my line manager, if successful. Again, I had all positive feedback, and the recruiter gave me the impression an offer was inevitable. But then, I was told they wanted me to go in for a third visit. This was with the line manager, and also an Agile delivery lead.
Third interview, I did not feel nervous at all - because I thought I had the offer in the bag at this point. But at one point, I got asked if I'm nervous, because I look it.
A few days later, I was told I had been rejected. The reasoning: This was a customer/lawyer facing role, and they did not feel like I could handle the customer facing part of the job.
Felt like they had wasted my time, and a kick in the teeth! If that was what they felt, could they not have judged this on the very first interview?! (which was also the longest interview, 90mins, so it must have been the best point to judge my personality).
