Very unprofessional! I submitted an application online within a week I received a link to an online questionare which I filled out the same day. I received an email notification that I had been selected to attend the face-to-face interviews and that I simply needed to respond to confirm and receive my "ticket" to the event. I promptly responded. More than 5 days later and less than 8 days before my interview I received an email stating that there had been an overwhelming response from selected candidates and that interview had filled up within a couple of days. (I responded promptly so I'm assuming the couple of days line is just part of an automated message as my name wasn't even used in the email. Did they expect half of us to say no??!!) I was encouraged to go instead to a meet and greet the day before. This is not an interview and since the real interview is full what can those attending hope for in the immediate future?! Will they cancel on someone the night before if they like you enough!? I do not even have adequate time to request off of my present job if I wanted to attend this "meet and greet" I would have to put my present job in jeopardy for some schmoozing so hopefully I get out into the "next one" The automated message containing false information is insulting and it's obscenely unprofessional to extend an official invitation to an interview then say you basically over-booked it.
