Got an email from the VP of Product after applying and scheduled a quick screen. Conversation was great. They felt my experience would bring a fresh perspective to the role. Got asked to do a take-home exercise (which I am usually hesitant to do). Spent quite a bit of time on it given how excited about the role I was. Submitted it and got asked to present it to a panel. The presentation went well and the panel was very nice. Got asked to knock out ANOTHER panel interview session over the course of a morning/afternoon with all of the same people. All panelists were great. Finally got an email that at the last second they had gone with another candidate who had done the exact same thing at another company.
