I applied online and was contacted via email about a week later by an executive assistant. She invited me to come in for an in-person interview with the CEO and Vice President. The CEO ended up not attending the interview so I just met with the Vice President.
The interview process lasted about 20 minutes. The Vice President asked the typical interview questions and was very thorough in answering any questions I had. However, when I was answering his questions I felt he wasn't always paying attention. More often than not, as I talked, he was scrolling on his phone and a few times had to ask me to repeat my answers. Sometime he would just nod and move on with another question when it was obvious he zoned out for my answer. It was the strangest interview I've ever participated in the say the least.
At the end of the interview he stated that he felt my past experiences overlapped with the responsibilities of the position I was applying for. He stated the next step would be a second round interview with the CEO (which I was excited about be the CEO and I have mutual friends and I have heard great things about him) and that they'd be in touch. I never heard back. I followed up via email twice and never heard back.
I love the pride that the company takes in their work, I love the industry they're in, and I love their company culture. However, I thought the Vice President was very unprofessional in the way he handled my interview process.
