I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at GE in Dec 2014
Interview
It was a quick 30 minute phone interview. It was all behavioral questions asking to show whether or not you're a clear thinker and articulate with your ideas. The interviewer asked typical questions like why GE, why I'm interested in technology and how I keep up with the new technologies.

I applied through college or university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at GE (Campus) in Jan 2016
Interview
I spoke with a recruiter at my school's career fair talked a lot about the research I was doing on campus, I left the table, then when I walked by again I was handed a card and told to meet for an interview the next day.
The next day's interview was solely behavioral. The interviewer was an alumni from the same school so I was able to make references to activities on campus which he understood.
After my interview I was contacted within 7 days that I had a second round phone interview. This interview was incredibly laid back and I was allowed to talk about my interests and where they might fit in with the things GE does. At the end of the interview I was informally told I got an offer and 1 week later I received the paper work.
