I applied in-person. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at GEICO (Lakeland, FL) in Feb 2014
Interview
First there is a phone interview. They tell you what the attendance policy is and schedule you for a time to come in for a computer skills test. Then you sit in a room with everyone and they tell you if you passed the assessment. Then you wait for your second part. This includes speaking with someone one on one who asks personality questions and how you work. If you pass that they offer to have you do a roll play to determine your skills on the phone. If you pass this then you go up to the call center floor listen to real phone calls with agents and wait to see the hiring manager. He or she makes the final decision. And offer.
There are two rounds. The first round is virtual and they ask about your background and if you can handle the process. For the second-round, You will shadow someone for 20 minutes then proceed for a 40 minute interview. There are a lot of situational questions.

Interview
You first fill out an assessment test. The assessment test isn't difficult; there are a few parts to it. First is the reading tables section. It asks you a question about the table and based on that you pick one of the four answers. This part is timed so you want to pace yourself a little bit. The other part is picking the statement that describes you the best, then the second-best statement out of three statements. Overall, this did not take long.
