      Liability Claims Representative Interview

      May 25, 2019
      Anonymous employee
      Houston, TX
      Accepted offer
      Neutral experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at GEICO (Houston, TX) in May 2019

      Interview

Applied online after hearing a radio advertisement. I immediately received a call saying that I qualified for a higher entry level position and that they would like to schedule me with a phone interview. I scheduled my phone interview online from there I spoke to a recruiter. This hiring process is quite lengthy and can be time consuming so be sure to schedule interviews/assessments on days that you have a few extra hours carved out. Recruiter will ask simple questions. Mostly about previous employment. Why your interested in leaving and what’s important to you in a company. They say congratulations we would like to schedule for you to meet with our HR team for an initial interview 1st interview you come in and will be with a small group of other interviewees. You will head to a testing room where you will take a 2 part stimulation assessment. Part 1 will be a flipping between multiple screens and recording information from calls/emails accurately and as fast as possible. Part 2 will be a written passage test where you must retype as fast and as accurately as possible. After that the instructor will let everyone know who passed you will move on to an interview with HR. If you didn’t not pass you can not reapply to the company for 6 months He will ask a lot of observational questions. Very basic easy questions. At the end of the HR interview you will either be asked to take a role playing assessment. If so this is great! They are still interested. If they tell you they will be in contact unfortunately you did not receive the position. Role play assessment will have your anxiety through the roof you will receive several phone calls in regards to your fictional company where you must remain call and be informative. Hardest part of the interview to me! I surely thought I was going to fail. The whole first interview processed lasted about 3hours. 2nd Interview is like a day in the life. You will meet with a trainer from the department for 30 minutes we’re your expected to take notes and see if the job is something you may still be interested in. From there you will sit down with an manager who will ask you further situation questions in relation to the actual job. Do the best you can they do not expect you to know Geico policy but just have basic knowledge on what to do. I was told they would call me within the week and let me know if an offer would be extended or not. On my way driving home from the interview the manager called me and extended an offer over the phone and via email. The corporate culture: everyone seemed throughly happy, beautiful building, and overall environment. Personally think the interview process is very long but I’m sure it’s needed because they company is going to invest a lot in your development the first 3 months. They want to ensure you will be able to perform and will stay on the actual job. Advice: don’t stress over the test! Try to do your very best in a timely matter. I’m a very slow typer and focused mainly on accuracy and I advanced. Hope this helps Good Luck =)

      Interview

I aced the computer-based test. It was stuff that I knew from my years in retail. During the first interview, I was told that they could not find a manager for the second interview and excitedly told me if I did not hear from them to call them Friday of that week. That day I was sent a denial in an email and was frankly disappointed that they got my hopes up for a second interview.

      Interview

Very long interview process. After applying you are invited to do a personality test and run a simulation program to test multitasking. You are then scheduled to do a phone interview that lasts about an hour mostly focusing on what you would do in hypothetical situations and previous work experience. After this, you are scheduled for a role-play interview online which can be very tricky and definitely the hardest part of the interview process, try to read the documents provided thoroughly and take notes. After that you do a video interview with a hiring manager answering further questions. I took me about 2 weeks but you can theoretically schedule everything in the same day.
