The initial virtual interview with the hiring manager and a team member was positive. The conversation focused on my background, relevant experience, and examples of how I've approached complex challenges in previous roles. I was then invited for an on‑site second round, which consisted of a three‑person panel. The format was similar, with each interviewer asking situational and behavioral questions. I felt confident about my performance throughout both rounds.
What caught me off guard was being given an assessment immediately after the panel interview. The test did not appear to measure skills or competencies related to the role's actual responsibilities. I was later informed that my assessment results did not meet their criteria, and I was removed from consideration.
Overall, the interview conversations themselves were professional. Still, the assessment component felt disconnected from the job requirements and ultimately determined the outcome in a way that didn't reflect my qualifications or interview performance.
