It was a very disorganized process, often times not giving me more than a few days to prepare. The staff I met were wonderful and would’ve loved working in partnership with them. Some of the leadership and board members not so much. Their behavior was problematic (e.g. cutting me off as I was answering their questions) and if I were to have worked there, I would’ve felt drained and burnt out within the year. In each interview there was no time left for me to ask thoughtful questions and I was asked to prepare a presentation for the staff, who during the interview had to be briefed on what I was going to present to them and why. In my first interview, the head of HR asked me to answer the root cause of poverty and it was the final question after having already answered 12-13 other questions in 58 minutes. Needless to say, that should’ve been a red flag. After the fourth (and presumably final interview), I was ghosted by them. Two months later I received a generic/canned email that they decided not to hire for this position. All in all I felt applying for a position here was a major waste of my time and grateful I never worked here, for who knows what the state of my mental health would’ve been.
