Contacted by a recruiter, had a screening stage and first stage online interview with the hiring manager. Flow cytometry role. Hiring manager was very nice, asked me general questions about my experience and then some technical questions. My motivations for applying.

General talk through my background and about the role What level of experience I have with flow cytometry, (very specific questions about the technique) max number of colours in a panel I have used, how do I decide between fluorochromes for different markers, how do I design panels, how do you gate on positive cells, if I have any experience with assay validation, what to do if the fluorescence was not as expected, what do you do if a marker was not expressed, how to set up a multi-colour panel, what controls do you use

Screening interview with HR then 45 min phone interview followed by full day onsite interview. Everyone was very nice and the technical questions were limited to your own research. Overall a pleasant experience.

What was your favorite paper that you read in recent literature and why?
Initial chat with a recruiter with standard procedure, mostly talking about the "logistics" of the job, e.g. salary range, location, etc. Then chat with hiring manager. After that I was invited to give a technical presentation, followed by about 6 different 1:1 or 1:2 interviews, the talk and interviews were conducted virtually. Lastly a site visit in person. Site visit included lunch and additional 1:1 conversations.
