GSK Manager In Medical Affairs Department interview questions

Weeks after applying, I was sent an invitation to interview via HireVue. For those that don't know, it's a completely de-humanized interview process where you are given prompts and have XX minutes to respond - some questions are written, some are video recorded. You don't get to know the questions ahead of time, and you don't get to re-do your recordings. I was given this task the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, and had to do my HireVue interview by the Sunday after. Ultimately I declined for several reasons: 1) I was traveling over Thanksgiving, so this deadline was not an option for me, 2) the privacy issue and use of the recorded video were not clear to me, and 3), I found the entire process so utterly dehumanizing I couldn't bring myself to do it. Not even a quick, 15-min phone screen with HR/Talent Acquisition to see if we were on the same page regarding the role, expectations, compensation, etc. Had HR/TA done that first, I probably would have done the HireVue interview. Frankly, as a PhD-level scientist with years of experience in pharma, I have too many other options (which is a shame, since I think this would have been a good fit and I was excited about the role). I suggest GSK at least talk to candidates they are interested in first to make sure the fit is good for both parties, before asking for a HireVue interview.
