I applied online - VERY short online application which is basically just upload your resume and give us contact info. Two days later I got an email to schedule a phone interview. Phone interview lasted about 20 minutes, and at the end of it, I was asked to provide availability for an in-person interview. In-person interview is group and 1:1 format. During the group interview, you'll watch a video, have a discussion, and do some team-building games to see how well you work with others and how well you work as a team. They are looking to see if you are a team player and if you are a good culture fit. Don't be stiff and nervous: be silly and fun like all of their videos show. After the whole-group interview process, you'll be broken up into smaller groups and go into different rooms to present your demo lesson. Everyone was asked to create a short (2-3 minute) demo lesson. After everyone presents their demo lesson, all the small groups got back together into the main group, and we did another game and then we sat and waited around for our 1:1 interviews. Don't take out your cell phone and start texting.... continue to be upbeat and lively. Demonstrate the spirit they display on their website and in their videos. 1:1 interview was short and laid back but was still fun. You'll role play various situations that might occur at camp: upset parent, camper who can't make friends, problem with lazy coworker. After the role play you'll get the "typical" interview questions about a time you had a problem, a time you've felt successful, and why you think you're a good fit. Two days later I got an email to schedule another phone call, and after a couple questions verifying dates and availability, I was offered a job different from the one I applied for, but I still accepted. There is no room to negotiate on your hourly rate. Onboarding is time-consuming but you'll be reimbursed for your fingerprinting, background check, and TB test expenses. Training is paid and online at your own pace. Hands down the best interview process I've ever had. It's true that an interview goes both ways: Yes, you are being interviewed for a job, but you should also be interviewing them to see if it's a good fit for you. I walked away positive that Galileo was a good fit for me and am glad to be part of their team.
