I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Gap (Chicago, IL) in May 2016
Interview
I applied to several Gap locations around the Chicago-land area over several weeks ago. After getting impatient, I decided to call the Gap downtown Chicago to see if they were hiring and they said yes. The associate I spoke to stated people don't usually call to check the application status and she appreciated the fact I did. But she informed me that they are having upcoming interviews and she would put my name down on the list. Then the following Sunday I was emailed by the Assistant manager about interview coming up the following week. I immediately took the first one that Tuesday. I had a group interview of 7 including myself that lasted about 45 minutes including introductions, asking us questions and then we asking him any. Later on Friday evening I got an email that I got the job.
Group interview with other candidates with the store manager. Arrive at the store and wait for other candidates. Then interview happens in break room and it lasted roughly about 30-60minutes
It was a group interview of about 10-12 people. If I remember correctly they take you to the back, the stock room, and ask almost everyone the same question. The interview lasted about 30 minutes.
It was very easy, one in person interview with the general manager and then I was accepted! Mainly personality and behavioral questions were asked, and I think enthusiasm on my end helped the most.
