I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Gap (Miami, FL) in Jun 2015
Interview
I applied online and received a call after a couple of days. I had a brief interview with a manager outside the store and was hired that same afternoon via phone call. The interview itself must have lasted less than 10 minutes. The store is one of the busiest they have and it was Summer time so they needed additional associates to supply the waves of tourists that typically come to Miami during this time. I must say speaking Spanish seems to have been at least mildly influential in my hiring.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They were mainly looking for schedule flexibility and some initiative. The store I applied to was one of the busiest they have in the nation and they were in dire need of new associates so the selection process was very straight forward. The manager basically asked me two questions, "What's your availability?" and "Can you describe a costumer experience you have had?".
Group interview with other candidates with the store manager. Arrive at the store and wait for other candidates. Then interview happens in break room and it lasted roughly about 30-60minutes
It was a group interview of about 10-12 people. If I remember correctly they take you to the back, the stock room, and ask almost everyone the same question. The interview lasted about 30 minutes.
It was very easy, one in person interview with the general manager and then I was accepted! Mainly personality and behavioral questions were asked, and I think enthusiasm on my end helped the most.
