I applied online. I interviewed at Gap (Wandsworth, England) in Jul 2016
Interview
I was called the week before and asked a few questions such as 'what's good customer service to you' and 'what can you bring to the job'. I was then told I had passed that stage and would move on to the face to face interview. I asked for an email confirmation but didn't receive one. When I got to the store on the day of the interview I was left waiting for ages to the point that someone else had to conduct the interview. The interview itself wasn't bad. I was asked some of the standard interview questions about customer service. I also had to talk about the outfit I chose, sell an item in my wardrobe and pick out an outfit for an occasion from the shop floor. I also had to spend about 15 mins on the shop floor as if I was working so that meant greeting customers and tidying the store. I was told my interview went well and I would hear from them soon. It's been about 2 weeks and I haven't had a response from them, they didn't even email to say if I didn't get the job or follow up on the interview
Group interview with other candidates with the store manager. Arrive at the store and wait for other candidates. Then interview happens in break room and it lasted roughly about 30-60minutes
It was a group interview of about 10-12 people. If I remember correctly they take you to the back, the stock room, and ask almost everyone the same question. The interview lasted about 30 minutes.
It was very easy, one in person interview with the general manager and then I was accepted! Mainly personality and behavioral questions were asked, and I think enthusiasm on my end helped the most.
