I applied in-person. I interviewed at Gap (London, England) in Sep 2016
Interview
They sit you down, to begin talking about the position you have chosen to apply by explaining the role, what they do and what they would expect of you to do if you were to take on the role. They would then proceed to question you on what you may know about GAP, or situational questions based on the role. In some cases you are asked to take on a work trial before the interview in which you would have been asked to wear a plain white shirt . If this is carried out you would be expected to observe practices done by other sale associates and attempt to learn folding techniques. During the sit-down interview they will ask questions on what you observed, and what you feel you needed to do in some situations or how you may have improved in taking up the sale associate role.
Group interview with other candidates with the store manager. Arrive at the store and wait for other candidates. Then interview happens in break room and it lasted roughly about 30-60minutes
It was a group interview of about 10-12 people. If I remember correctly they take you to the back, the stock room, and ask almost everyone the same question. The interview lasted about 30 minutes.
It was very easy, one in person interview with the general manager and then I was accepted! Mainly personality and behavioral questions were asked, and I think enthusiasm on my end helped the most.
