I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Gap (Seattle, WA) in Oct 2015
Interview
Interview was scheduled the same week I applied. Process from submission to notice of hire was 1 week. The interview was very brief and to the point. The manager asked several questions that focused on customer service. There are 2 parts to the interview. If you pass part 1, they will tell you about the job duties. They will then ask you if you are willing and can commit to the job duties and a flexible schedule. That means they are seriously considering you for the position. If you do not pass part 1, that means you are no longer considered for the position. They won't tell you on the spot. Just recognize that if your interview seems very short, you didn't get it. Altogether and easy process.
Interview questions [3]
Question 1
Describe a time when you experienced customer service that went above and beyond.
Group interview with other candidates with the store manager. Arrive at the store and wait for other candidates. Then interview happens in break room and it lasted roughly about 30-60minutes
It was a group interview of about 10-12 people. If I remember correctly they take you to the back, the stock room, and ask almost everyone the same question. The interview lasted about 30 minutes.
It was very easy, one in person interview with the general manager and then I was accepted! Mainly personality and behavioral questions were asked, and I think enthusiasm on my end helped the most.
