I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Gartner
Interview
A recruiter from Gartner reached out to me about the position. We had a phone interview that week and I was scheduled for a virtual interview with a Director. That interview went well and I was moved on through the process meeting with four people in total. My recruiter did a great job keeping me informed about next steps.
Unfortunately, right before my last interview my original recruiter let me know he was leaving Gartner and I was assigned a new recruiter. This is where my positive experience turns negative. I had a brief introduction call with her and she said she would follow up with me after my last interview. A week after my last interview, I didn’t hear from the recruiter. I followed up with her, and she never apologized for never following up when she said she would. She said she should have an update in the next two days. Two days passed, and then another week, with no update from her. My prior recruiter at least did his job and kept me informed. I reached to her one final time time and she assured me she would reach out by end of day. At least she is consistent with her lies, because I never heard from her. I have finally received an impersonal email response with grammatical errors from the recruiter thanking me for my time. Well, it’s been over a month. I am glad I dodged this bullet. They seem unorganized and their recruiters are awful. If this is how they treat candidates during the interview process, this isn’t a place that I would enjoy. I should have taken my internal recruiter leaving the company as a red flag.
It was long but they thoroughly test knowledge.
They ask about KRAs and ability to showcase previous work.
It was medium hard. I recommend taking being confident in your existing work.

Describe your current role and experience in terms of this position.
I applied online. I interviewed at Gartner in Feb 2026
Interview
The hiring process felt unprofessional and poorly executed. HR asked challenging, on the spot questions that seemed designed to pressure the candidate rather than assess relevant skills, many of which were not aligned with the responsibilities of the role. The interviewer also appeared unprepared to discuss the position in detail. Overall, the process felt disorganized and raised concerns about professionalism, recruiting standards, and internal coordination.

Overall it was nothing crazy, but hard to impress since I was from outside of the business.
Team was nice and everyone quickly sold me on the company and overall focus on professional growth.
