I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Gartner in Feb 2022
Interview
I had a 30min phone call with Talent Acquisition, a 30min phone call with a recruiter, a 1 hour video interview with a recruiter, and another 1 hour video interview with the same recruiter. The 2 video interviews consisted of behavior based questions and role playing. Though the recruiter was very friendly, they expected me to answer the BBI questions in STAR format. I would’ve preferred to have been able to be more organic in my responses and not so pressured to respond the way they expected of me. After interview 4, I was passed along to a recruiter in another department. Having waited about 3 weeks to hear from anyone for the 5th interview, I finally had a 30min phone call again (starting the process all over again). This recruiter informed me they would call me by a certain date regarding the position since they didn’t even have an opening at the moment. Not only did I not hear back but I was going through an extensive interview process for a position that wasn’t even available. Initially it seemed like Gartner could give me the sun, the moon, and the stars but after a 2 month long interview process with no actual progress, I found it was a lot of “talk.” I was actively job searching and had actually stopped applying places since I was being moved along in this interview process but sadly, I was being strung along with no consideration for my time. I guarantee Gartner will be reaching back out in another few weeks to meet their quotas for interviews with no real intention on hiring me, but simply just wasting my time and getting my hopes up for their benefit.
Avoid this interview process at all costs. It felt like nothing more than a data gathering exercise rather than a genuine hiring effort. Every single round was conducted by a recruiter — I never spoke with an actual hiring manager or team member. A complete waste of time and effort. I would not recommend applying.
Interview Process is your usual 4 step interview process : with HR / Hiring Manager / Discovery call / VP call.
You want to ask for feedback at the end of all interview and apply them.

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Gartner
Interview
It was okay. Two interviews, phone call and zoom. Zoom was a bit weird all very feedback approached. Had to do a role play of a cold call, which I do everyday to someone who has no cold calling experience so not sure that’s the best judge
