Contacted by a recruiter on LinkedIn in July, with a template message that tried to be fun and a bit childish. I replied asking a few questions, but before even seeing my response she sent a follow-up email, clearly not paying attention to her own outreach cadence. Honestly, I thought it might be a scam at first.
I booked the meeting anyway. It went well, although I expected a more professional tone, it felt very casual, almost like interviewing with a small startup. Still, it was a very standard, high-level screening and she seemed very enthusiastic. Right on the call, we scheduled the behavioural interview.
Then on the day of the behavioural interview (scheduled for one hour), she joined nine minutes late only to say her camera and connection weren’t working, so we had to reschedule. When the interview finally happened, the tone was still very “startup-like,” but this time we went deeper into my experience. She asked for specific examples on retention, cross-sell, upsell, preparation for discovery calls, etc. She said she would present my profile the next day and get back to me the day after.
Nothing happened.
The following week, I sent a follow-up email, no response. A month later, I asked for feedback since my profile seemed to have been rejected, still nothing.
Now, in November 2025, another recruiter contacts me again to book an interview. This is the third time a Gartner recruiter reaches out to me via LinkedIn. The first time, I was ghosted after the screening call, and only got a reply after a follow-up email saying someone had been hired while I was still waiting for the next step. Then this recent process: two interviews, ghosted again… and four months later another recruiter reaches out.
I would genuinely love to work at Gartner… but their recruitment process is catastrophic. They should respect the preparation time that candidates invest in interviews and at least provide updates. As for me, I will no longer respond to their recruiters.
