The interview was basic. Mostly felt like a competency test. I answered basic questions about my customer service experience and relevant electronics repair experience which I have 8 years each. Was also asked my pay expectations so I referenced the posting which clearly states $17-20/hr. Immediately my interviewer backed off and said they usually start at$16.xx/hr. I responded I need to be at/around $18 based on having 8 years of relevant experience. We finished talking and I felt good that they were "checking on the pay rate and would follow up with me later". After a second brief interview I was asked if still interested and asked my pay expectations where I stated again I wanted to be at/around $18 based on my experience and referenced the posting again. I was told they would pass along the info to my previous hiring manager and someone would get back to me. I received an offer by email two days later for the position but it was for $16.75 hourly. The email stated I need to accept within 24 hours in bold red font and another part granted me permission to call my interviewer if I had questions about my offer. I immediately called and left a voicemail. After a full day without response I called again. I received another email 24 hours after the first email stating the same thing (without the bold red font section I mentioned previously) and tried calling my interviewer again with no response. After that I found the hiring manager on LinkedIn and asked to speak with him about my offer because I was worried about the specified 24 hour timeframe. Ultimately I received one more automated email about the offer but I ignored it because nobody responded to me. I felt lied to but willing to accept it if I could just talk to someone. After another day of thinking I gave up and didn't want to work with people who can't even pick up the phone to even talk when it clearly states in my email to call if I had questions. Finally the automated offers stopped coming.
