Interview
Fairly standard technical interview process. I went through underdog io and had an engineering manager reach out to me. I had an initial interview with the hiring manager and then a four interview panel; system design, coding, cross functional, and behavioral. Functionally it felt like two very similar behavioral rounds, a coding round and a system design round.
After that I had a final behavioral and fit interview with my skip manager.
The entire process took 30 days from first contact to reference request/offer.
My only complaint with the process is that the "on-site" portion took a full calendar week for scheduling. I prefer to do the on-site interview in a narrower time period to get it over with.
The recruiter was great and prepped me pretty well for everything.

Question 1
The coding interview question was a multi-part dynamic programming question asking for increasingly complex solutions that built on each other.
OA -> Recruiter Call -> Technical Phone Screen -> HR Call -> Offer
Rejected after technical phone screen. Interviewer was on their phone during the coding problem, felt like they were trying to rush to fill the position. Overall bad experience.

Interview
The interview process involves HR screen, HM screen, 1 live coding, 1 systems design and 1 behavioral.
If you need that many loops to decide if someone is right for you, then I don't know what to say. I never liked live coding but I politely declined after I saw live coding and systems design. To me, that is not the best way to showcase my skills. However, the interviewer, said that the HM was "very interested in me". So ... after 1 month... I finally got to talk to the HM... and was very interested in what I had to say.
Then... rejection. I get it, no one is perfect. But if you have to take 1 month THEN live coding, systems design and more... your ability to make a decision on a hire is not good.
I should have declined again after they asked me to reconsider. Thankfully, bullet was dodged.

The interview was in several stages and included a tech screen for both design and coding as well as behavioral interviews at the manager and senior leadership levels.
