The interview experience reflected poorly on the organization. The process felt unstructured and unprofessional, and the interviewer did not appear adequately prepared to conduct an effective interview. Questions were poorly framed and lacked clarity, with their intent often only becoming apparent after prolonged discussion.
The explanation of the organization and role was long-winded and confusing rather than informative. The interviewer’s presentation and overall demeanor were noticeably informal and unpolished for an interview setting, which further undermined confidence in the organization’s standards.
Overall, the experience suggested a lack of interviewer training, clear interview structure, and baseline professionalism. This raised concerns about internal alignment and how seriously the organization approaches candidate experience.

Interview

I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Gen in May 2025
Interview
Bad experience with the process:
Interview scheduled with Talent Acquisition person following online application and 1:1 email exchange.
TA person was 15 minutes late (to a 30 minute call) and I needed to text them to be reminded to hop on. It then took 5 more minutes for the TA person to understand we were not talking about role 'A' (a more jr. role in a different department) vs. role 'B' that I applied for.
Despite the initial misalignments, the call later went well and TA person requested I share with them several time slots within the next 4~5 days so that I can be scheduled to talk to the hiring manager, emphasizing they want to get me in front of the hiring manager in the next few days.
I shared my availability within a couple of hours of finishing the call; It has been over two weeks since that initial call, and the TA person has not even bothered to acknowledge the time slots I offered nor answer a follow up text.
Talent Acquisition person has been neither responsive nor respectful of my time and has not done a good job standing by the expectations they themselves laid out during the conversation.
